Work at home jobs are good for your health
One of the most overlooked advantages of work at home jobs is the effect they can have on health. When a person is allowed to schedule their health care needs without risking the option of losing their job due to missed time. If a person works at home for a company that provides benefits, including health care, then that person is less likely to miss work due to healthcare issues that a person that works in house, and will even finish work expected of them while not feeling their best, as they are able to work at home and there is no risk of infecting other workers.
The only time that this might not be true in in the case of the small business owner that chooses not to carry health insurance. While this may seem like bad news, all is not lost. An insured business owner that works out of their own home actually makes fewer visits to the doctor than their insured counterparts outside of the home. There seems top be a researched consensus that work at home jobs make workers happier and healthier.
With working at home jobs becoming more prevelant, insurance companies are also taking notice, and if they are as statiscal as they historically have been, then lower cost health care premiums for stay at home workers might be yet another incentive for people seeking work at home jobs in the near future.
The only time that this might not be true of people with work at home jobs, is if they do not take care of themselves, allowing their job to instead of liberating their personal live, have become work at home workaholics. People with work at home jobs need to take special care not to let their work at home job become a 24 hour a day affair. While this trend is also seen in all business owners, the persons holding work at home jobs tend to find this cycle harder to break because they are so close to their physical place of business.
So if you take care of yourself, and have no out of the ordinary health care needs, then working at home jobs might just be better for your health than driving every day to the office.
