You have to watch out that you do not get scammed while trying to find work at home jobs. The one to really watch out for are multilevel marketing schemes that may very well be legitimate opportunities, but yet offer false home to people.
By and large multilevel marketing opportunities are the least easy way to make a regular income online. It is not entirely impossible, but for those who are looking for a way to bring in money quicker there are other options.
Your Options
You can find countless ways to make money at home. Some of these are in the areas of owning your own business while others pertain to jobs you can complete while hired on company payroll (telecommuting).
Four of the most popular legitimate ways to make money at home are shown below:
Call center services-All the time companies are in need of someone to answer their phones after hours. This helps any business or organization who does not want to miss any important phone calls. It helps because callers are likely to leave a message with a life person-sometime more so than if there is just a voicemail.
Online store-Perhaps you have a specialty craft item that is unique or you have access to supplies for families who have babies. You could market any number of products or services via an online retail store. The key to making money is to make sure there is a demand for what you want to sell.
Online auction sales-This is similar to running an online store but usually involves the listing of individual items. These items then are for sale to the highest bidder. One place you can host auction items is eBay.
Incidentally, you can purchase an eBay store and list all your auction items in it. This helps make your items for sale easier to find.
Mystery shopping-You can find these opportunities when signing up with the right online agencies. Sometimes you may have to travel a bit of a distance to get to your destination. The amount you can earn varies, but it typically is from $5.00 to $100.00.
Childcare services-This is a very rewarding way to make money at home. People who love kids often prefer to watch children in their own home versus work for a day care. Either way you need the right license and to have your home approved for this opportunity.

Moms work at home all the time. Practical advice can help them secure lucrative legitimate employment as they increase their productivity.
Some of the tips offered to Work at Home Moms (WAHMs) are presented below:
- When seeking legitimate WAHM employment be careful. Beware of paying large sums of money to supposedly gain access to jobs. Except for when you work in a freelance bidding arrangement you should usually not have to pay to access jobs.
- If you want to become a work at home mom consider all your options. However, make sure you do what you love to do best because you are more likely to succeed if you do.
- Make sure you network with other live human beings online and offline. This will ensure that you are connected with more work opportunities. This is especially important if you work on a freelance, contract, or home business basis versus as a telecommuter (home worker on a company payroll).
- As you are assigned jobs make sure you understand the nature of your duties. This will ensure the greatest level of success. It will lead to future jobs as well, and you are likely to acquire repeat work if you understand your job and fulfill all client requirements.
Types of WAHM Jobs
In case you are wondering how you can make money as a work at home mom, here are some ideas:
- You can provided freelance graphic art, website design, or article writing services. You might also be savvy at web or computer programming languages. If you are then you have the chance to make quite a bit of money.
- You can run a business from your home but go on location to complete jobs. This would be the role of a person who does yard work, interior decorating, or landscaping for instance.
- Some people may work at home providing babysitting and day care services. Other people may provide cosmetic services such as hair styling and makeovers.
- You can telecommute while employed on a company payroll. Usually you would work in the capacity of a virtual customer assistant or perhaps a virtual office assistant. You would most likely have to answer calls and/or take orders or perform basic clerical tasks.
- You may find some work in data entry or typing. However, beware that in this line of work there are not many legitimate openings. The need for an income can sometimes fool people.

Work at home moms are just as busy as the dads who work in an office, factory, or other place all day long. They are dedicated to bringing in that extra income that keeps the bills paid and put food on the table and provides for entertainment for the entire family.
If you are a work at home mom you are in need of support. After all, you are raising your kids along with taking on a paid part-time or full-time job, and both of these positions are very demanding (caring for kids and meeting clients’ needs).
The support you need can come from a variety of resources. Maybe you know other moms from your children’s school that you can connect with, or there perhaps is a social group dedicated to stay-at-home moms that exists in your community.
You can also seek a stay-at-home mom support online. Plenty of forums, social sites, and blogs are dedicated to help women with small children in their home connect with one another. Who knows? You might even find someone from your own area whom you can get together with on a regular basis.
Aspects of support
When you network with other stay-at-home moms you receive a variety of benefits from this experience. For instance, one or more of the following may be something you would get out of your local or online group:
- A safe place to vent when stressed out
- An avenue of social interaction
- Savings on childcare costs as you take turn watching each other’s kids
- The cultivation of (potentially) lifelong friendship, no matter where you live
- Opportunity to have a break with your children while on a schedule rotation
- An outlet of support when lonely
- Educational tools to help you through every stage as your child grows up
- Encouragement right when you need it the most
There is no shame in being a stay-at-home mom, and they are able to make quite a substantial income for the family. The lives of a woman in this position should not feel any less important than the female executive who wants it all-the outside job and then the kids at home.
Types of Work at Home
For women who want to work at home there are many different opportunities. For instance, you can provide creative services such as web design or business logos. You can also write for a living or find work as a home medical transcriber.

You can work at home and still make money. People are doing it even now, during the tail end of this current recession. It may take a bit of old-fashioned “putting your nose to the grindstone” but the effort is worth it.
Of course, it would have been best to do this while you had your primary job just in case you had lost it. It never too late, however, to turn your situation around. Besides, maybe this current recession will end up becoming a blessing in disguise as you “make lemonade out of lemons” like the masters told you do.
Please forgive the excessive use of clichés. I just could not think of how to state my point above any clearer. Now, for the reason why I wrote this entry in the first place please read below:
Virtual assistant-One way to make money online while working at home is to become a virtual assistant. If a company in this position employed you, you would serve a company in the same way you would if you worked on site. You would be like a receptionist and/or customer service representative, only the company calls are forwarded to your phone.
Internet store-Another very popular way to make money online while you bring in a home income is to have your own Internet store. You can sell items that you sell at home or you can sell them for someone else. Either way, you can make a comfortable living once you get going.
Graphic/web designer-Another very fun and creative way to make money is to run a graphics arts and/or web design operation. The more skills you become proficient in the more people you can serve. For instance, if you know CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and other programming languages and you are great at making logos you may attract a wide customer base.
Interior designer/decorator-An additional form of income may require you to be out of the home a little bit more. That is if you were to become an interior designer, or may be you want to remodel homes, or you want to offer housecleaning or babysitting services. Even if you are needed on site somewhere, you can still present your self online so you can attract local clients.
Affiliate marketer-Finally; one of the most popular ways to earn money without even leaving the house these days is to become an affiliate marketer. In this position, all you do is market products and services to others.
However, you do not use traditional “hard selling” techniques but rather review products and offer your site visitors useful tips and services free. You make money on either ad clicks or purchases made, or both.
