Work at Home Scams

Most work at home scams leave their doors open, allowing you to see right through them. In fact, most of them paint a sign right on their front door, by way of ommission of the information that a legitimate company would happily offer. The main pieces of information that any legitimate company would offer, but are rarely available with the work at home scam are:

Professional web design - While you may not think that this is a sure sign of a scam, it is a good indicator. If a company is telling you that you can make 10s of thousands of dollars every month with their help, then why s it that they can't spend a few dollars themselves to give the best online impression possible. If the company only offers a freely hosted webpage with no real thought or effort put into it, it was probably slapped up, to be taken down just as fast, after the money is gone.

Requests payment but offer no product details.

It really amazes me, but lots of people are vistims of work at home scams not because they never recieve their product, but because no product was ever offered to begin with. Some people get so wrapped up in the amount of money that a promoter tells tham that they can make, that they will pull out their credit card before even finding out exactly HOW they will make this money, or where it will come from. A simple "you can make $10,000 a month" should never be enough information to get you to spend hard earned money.

Using Spam Promotion

There are two types of spam offers that you will get. One, spam offers for legitimate work at home jobs being sent by promoters who care not if they use spam to send their message, and out right work at home scams, who can find no other way to market their product. The first group is hurting themselves, because they feel that the money they save by spamming is money in the bank. Most likely they will lose all of their affiliate commissions (100%) when the parent company finds out they are using this method. The latter are merely relying on impulse reaction by readers, and the ability to move from server to server with their spam mail, not being able to keep a valid presence, even online for very long, due to the nature of their work at home scam.
