Quit your job, work from home

Everyone thinks about it at least once. Either you hate your current job or just want more for yourself and your family, and you see that owning your own home based business as the way to get what you want. This is not just a distant dream that is out of reach. While marching into your basses office and telling them that you are no longer their slave is often a thrilling thought, if you want to run your own business, then you need to begin with thinking like a responsible business owner from the start. Often, quitting your job is NOT the first step to a secure financial future. Usually, there are several steps that must be achieved before you are ready to leave employment and moving on to business ownership.

1- Are you financially ready? Financial security is often one of the top objectives in working from home. If you are currently behind on your bills, or know that you need more money every month to live the lifestyle you want, then you often will have to continue working at you current job, work from home in your spare time, and create a plan to slowly move your financial reliance over to your new business before you tell you boss to take a hike.

2- Is your family ready for the change? When you take the plunge into business ownership, all of those around you will have to make sacrifices. Are your children and spouse going to let you work when they are around, or will they find it hard to give you the privacy needed to stay productive?

3- Are you emotionally ready? Working for yourself brings on new stresses and responsibilities that are truly absent while working a regular 9-5 job. Work from home opportunities leave no room for passing the buck, or thinking that problems left unsettled can be "picked up" by others. Are you ready for the extra emotional burdens that come with running your own home based business?

In comparison to a regular job, work from home opportunities bring with them, not only immense reward and freedom, but new responsibilties. Are you up to the challenge?
